Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Locum Practice Nurse for a lovely GP surgery in Rochdale. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care, ensuring that all patients receive the attention and support they need during their visits. As a Practice Nurse, you will work closely with doctors and other healthcare professionals to deliver effective nursing services within a clinical setting.

Job Description:

• 3 days per week (6 Sessions)
• Locum Position
• Conduct patient assessments and provide appropriate care based on individual needs
• Child Immunisations
• Smears
• Blood Test / Cholesterol Results
• Inclisiran injections
• Hypertension Reviews
• Weight Management
• Asthma Reviews
• Pill check
• Administer vaccinations and perform routine health checks
• Assist in the management of chronic conditions and provide health education to patients
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
• Support patients with advice on lifestyle changes and health promotion strategies
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the practice

Skills

• Strong knowledge of patient care principles and practices
• Competent in QOF, Arden’s templates and EMIS Web
• Proficient understanding of human anatomy and physiology
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and colleagues
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in documentation and patient management
• Empathy and compassion towards patients, ensuring their comfort and wellbeing
